We are Gaylon (aka Woody) & Sharon Woods. We are full-time RV’ers; our home is a 2007 40 foot Alfa SeeYa motorhome and we tow a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We started out in California in May 2004 and after 4 years on the road, we became Texans. Our mail goes to Livingston where the Escapee’s RV Club have their headquarters. So, when you ask us where we’re from, it will be where we are parked for the night!
We started in a 5th wheel trailer & a GMC Sierra 1 ton pickup & headed south to help Mrs. Woods (Woody’s mother) move from Laguna Beach, CA to Oregon City, OR. Then we took a month to travel from Laguna Beach to Battle Ground, WA seeing interesting things along the way. We finally took the time to see the La Brea Tar Pits in LA, the Underground Gardens in Fresno, Old Perpetual (a geyser in Oregon). We ran the Snake River in Idaho and followed the Oregon Trail from Baker City along the Columbia where Lewis & Clark traveled in 1804. After helping Gaylon’s older brother Don with his dome home constructiion we headed east for a visit with Sharon’s parent in IL, had work done on our rig in IN. Then south to visit our oldest son Robert, wife Teresa & our grand girls in MO. From there we drove to Pharr, TX where we hooked up with Adventure Caravans for a drive to Panama. Saw a bit of Mexico & all 7 Central American countries. Our favorite was Costa Rica. What a great time we had traveling with 24 other rigs. Back to the US, we spent some time in TX visiting family. Then just sort of zigged & zagged around the western US.
Since 2004, when we started, we have slept in 23 states west of the Mississippi River, 5 east of it, 7 Central American countries, 10 Mexican states and 4 Canadian provinces & the Yukon Territory. We have enjoyed hot springs fed by volcanoes in Costa Rica, hot baths in Wyoming, researched our family roots in Utah, seen gorgeous National Parks, dunked ourselves in the Arctic Ocean, viewed polar bears from a tundra buggy, toured state capitals and realize there is so much we haven’t seen.
Sharon does all the computer work with expert help from Brian Dill, our niece’s husband. Without Brian, this web page would not exist.
If you see us on the road, wave! Hugs from the travelers, Gaylon & Sharon
